April 28: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 12 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 3 in Guangdong province, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Shaanxi province), 4 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 11 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 857 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 2.

As of 24:00 on April 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,624 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,352 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 272 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 7 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on April 27, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,622 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,669 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 317 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 7 suspected cases. 1,006,693 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,807 were still under medical observation.

On April 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 17 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 6 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 5 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on April 27, 327 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 316 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on April 27, 12,907 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,748 in Hong Kong (209 had died and 11,379 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 49 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,110 in Taiwan (12 had died and 1,050 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
