Guangzhou to resume offline teaching next Monday

Starting from April 25 (next Monday), all primary schools, kindergartens, after-school training institutions, childcare institutions in Guangzhou, except those in lockdown and controlled zones, will resume classroom, or offline teaching, according to Chen Xueming, deputy director of the Education Bureau of Guangzhou Municipality at a press conference today (April 22).

Teachers and students should provide 48-hour negative nucleic acid test results for themselves and the people living in the same residence before returning to school. They are also encouraged to travel only between home and school.

Vocational and technical schools in Baiyun district, except schools in lockdown and controlled zones, will also resume offline schooling and implement closed-off management since April 25. Faculty and staff are required to travel only between home and school. And the frequency of nucleic acid testing will be increased.

Schools including kindergartens, after-school training institutions and childcare institutions, in lockdown and controlled zones, as well as teachers, students and employees living in the zones, shall follow the local epidemic prevention and control requirements.

The Guangzhou Senior High School Entrance PE Examination, which has been put on hold, will restart from May 6.

In addition, two senior high school entrance examinations, the English Listening and Speaking Test, which was scheduled to begin on May 14, and the Physical and Chemical Experiment Test, which was scheduled to begin on May 21, will be postponed by one week. The above test arrangements will be announced specifically on the official website of the Guangzhou Admission and Examination Office.

For the resumption of offline classes for schools in lockdown and controlled zones, the government will make timely adjustment according to the latest epidemic prevention and control situation, then announce to the public.
