June 6: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 31 new cases of confirmed infections (6 imported cases, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Zhejiang province; 25 indigenous cases, 16 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Beijing municipality and 4 in Shanghai municipality, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Beijing municipality), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On June 5, 257 patients were released from hospital after being cured (19 imported cases; 238 indigenous cases, 173 in Shanghai municipality, 37 in Beijing municipality, 12 in Henan province, 10 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province). 11,795 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 8.

As of 24:00 on June 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,776 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,568 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 208 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 5, the National Health Commission had received reports of 224,341 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 217,936 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,179 confirmed cases (including 57 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,126,178 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 126,500 were still under medical observation.

On June 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 140 new asymptomatic cases (79 imported cases; 61 indigenous cases, 33 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 13 in Liaoning province, 5 in Sichuan province, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Jilin province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Yunnan province).

On June 5, 1,292 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (49 imported cases; 1,243 indigenous cases, 1,125 in Shanghai municipality, 43 in Henan province, 21 in Zhejiang province, 16 in Jilin province, 12 in Sichuan province, 8 in Tianjin municipality, 7 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Liaoning province, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Yunnan province). 2 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on June 5, 5,265 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 514 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on June 5, 2,737,675 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 332,721 in Hong Kong (9,386 had died and 62,510 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 83 in Macao (82 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 2,404,871 in Taiwan (2,939 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
