June 7: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 57 new cases of confirmed infections (18 imported cases, 7 in Fujian province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Sichuan province; 39 indigenous cases, 20 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 13 in Liaoning province, 3 in Shanghai municipality and 3 in Sichuan province, including 14 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 13 in Liaoning province and 1 in Sichuan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On June 6, 160 patients were released from hospital after being cured (21 imported cases; 139 indigenous cases, 59 in Shanghai municipality, 41 in Beijing municipality, 17 in Sichuan province, 10 in Tianjin municipality, 5 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Henan province, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Guangdong province). 12,866 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 7.

As of 24:00 on June 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,794 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,589 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 205 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 224,398 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 218,096 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,076 confirmed cases (including 50 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,130,371 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 117,819 were still under medical observation.

On June 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 152 new asymptomatic cases (67 imported cases; 85 indigenous cases, 49 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 19 in Liaoning province, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Jilin province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Fujian province).

On June 6, 764 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (63 imported cases; 701 indigenous cases, 555 in Shanghai municipality, 82 in Sichuan province, 22 in Henan province, 9 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 7 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Tianjin municipality, 6 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Liaoning province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Jilin province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region). 16 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on June 6, 4,637 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 516 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on June 6, 2,790,757 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 332,793 in Hong Kong (9,386 had died and 62,526 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 83 in Macao (82 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 2,457,881 in Taiwan (3,090 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
