June 16: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 15, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 64 new cases of confirmed infections (22 imported cases, 7 in Fujian province, 6 in Guangdong province, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Sichuan province, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Sichuan province; 42 indigenous cases, 14 in Beijing municipality, 13 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Liaoning province, 2 in Hebei province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Chongqing municipality), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections. 

On June 15, 65 patients were released from hospital after being cured (13 imported cases; 52 indigenous cases, 28 in Shanghai municipality, 16 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Liaoning province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 2 in Sichuan province). 7,072 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on June 15, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 18,975 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,754 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 221 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 15, the National Health Commission had received reports of 225,118 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 218,944 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 948 confirmed cases (including 15 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,199,130 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 120,353 were still under medical observation.

On June 15, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 111 new asymptomatic cases (73 imported cases; 38 indigenous cases, 21 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Liaoning province, 2 in Jilin province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region). 

On June 15, 280 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (65 imported cases; 215 indigenous cases, 170 in Shanghai municipality, 17 in Liaoning province, 8 in Sichuan province, 6 in Jilin province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Jiangsu province). 7 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 3 imported cases). As of 24:00 on June 15, 1,804 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 472 imported cases). 

As of 24:00 on June 15, 3,406,530 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 334,015 in Hong Kong (9,392 had died and 63,002 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 83 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,072,432 in Taiwan (4,546 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
