June 24: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 37 new cases of confirmed infections (19 imported cases, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Shandong province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Sichuan province; 18 indigenous cases, 14 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Guangdong province, including 13 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Inner Mongolia autonomous region), no deaths, and 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai municipality). 

On June 23, 94 patients were released from hospital after being cured (20 imported cases; 74 indigenous cases, 32 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 28 in Beijing municipality, 11 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Liaoning province and 1 in Sichuan province). 5,298 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on June 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,188 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,921 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 267 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on June 23, the National Health Commission had received reports of 225,434 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 219,548 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 660 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 4,235,438 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 105,498 were still under medical observation.

On June 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 106 new asymptomatic cases (80 imported cases; 26 indigenous cases, 8 in Jilin province, 7 in Liaoning province, 4 in Guangdong province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Shanghai municipality). 

On June 23, 143 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (55 imported cases; 88 indigenous cases, 36 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 22 in Beijing municipality, 13 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Chongqing municipality). 15 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on June 23, 1,210 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 554 imported cases).  

As of 24:00 on June 23, 3,823,505 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 335,791 in Hong Kong (9,398 had died and 63,466 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 115 in Macao (83 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,487,599 in Taiwan (5,817 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
