June 29: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new cases of confirmed infections (21 imported cases, 6 in Guangdong province, 4 in Fujian province, 3 in Jiangxi province, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Sichuan province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Guangdong province; 3 indigenous cases, 2 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Guangdong province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections. 

On June 28, 47 patients were released from hospital after being cured (20 imported cases; 27 indigenous cases, 10 in Beijing municipality, 10 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Liaoning province, 2 in Shanghai municipality and 2 in Zhejiang province). 9,621 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained the same.

As of 24:00 on June 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,341 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 19,036 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 305 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 28, the National Health Commission had received reports of 225,605 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 219,915 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 464 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,261,043 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 88,674 were still under medical observation.

On June 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 105 new asymptomatic cases (69 imported cases; 36 indigenous cases, 15 in Anhui province, 9 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Liaoning province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Yunnan province). 

On June 28, 109 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (63 imported cases; 46 indigenous cases, 21 in Shanghai municipality, 14 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Liaoning province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Yunnan province). 1 asymptomatic case became a confirmed case (an imported case). As of 24:00 on June 28, 870 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 483 imported cases [decreased by 2 in Tianjin municipality after verification]).  

As of 24:00 on June 28, 4,023,833 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 337,306 in Hong Kong (9,399 had died and 63,798 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 189 in Macao (83 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,686,338 in Taiwan (6,448 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
