Ouyang Jiangxuan Meets Delegation from Kikkoman Corporation

On May 9, Ouyang Jiangxuan, Vice President of Guangdong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (GPAFFC), met with a delegation led by Haruhiko Fukasawa, General Manager of the Foreign Administration Department, Kikkoman Corporation of Japan.

Ouyang extended a warm welcome to Fukasawa on behalf of GPAFFC and thanked Kikkoman for sending top Japanese cuisine chefs to provide free cooking training in Guangdong for six consecutive years. Noting that Kikkoman is a multinational enterprise with a long history of more than 350 years, as well as the leader and model of peers in Japan and even in the world, he said its management concepts and experience worth learning from and promoting. In recent years, Kikkoman Corporation have leveraged its advantages for cultural exchanges with China through food, broadening the fields and channels of people-to-people exchanges between Guangdong and Japan, and deepening mutual understanding and friendship.

Fukasawa thanked Ouyang for his warm hospitality and GPAFFC for its sustained efforts to help Kikkoman and Guangzhou Vocational School of Tourism and Business establish links with each other. He said that the face-to-face training of making Japanese cuisine has allowed the students to improve their cooking skills and deepened their understanding of the spirit of workmanship, calling for friendly exchanges and cooperation in more fields in the future.

On May 10, Fukasawa, together with chefs from UKAI, a famous Michelin-starred restaurant in Japan, gave lectures on basic Japanese cuisine knowledge at Guangzhou Vocational School of Tourism and Business. With the support of GPAFFC, Kikkoman has sent top chefs to conduct free cooking training 10 times for 6 consecutive years.
