Macao Portuguese-English Media Group visits Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin

On December 9th and 10th, the Macao Portuguese and English Press Delegation visited Guangdong-Macao In-deep Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. They interviewed some project representatives in the cooperation zone, and visited cultural and tourism projects, industrial development, supporting environment among other things.

The cultural tourism industry is one of the new industries in the cooperation zone. The construction of Hengqin International Leisure and Tourism Island and the construction of Macao into a world tourism and leisure center are also important parts of the general plan for building the cooperation zone in Hengqin. Therefore, the media group visited Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai and Sumlodol Camping Town and experienced different Hengqin cultural and tourism industries.

In addition, the reporters also visited the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao, and learned about the traditional Chinese medicine scientific research service system inside. At present, the industrial park has provided services such as drug and health food development and technological upgrading of existing products for 6 Macao companies as well as promoted the successful registration of 9 products in Mozambique, and helped 7 products to obtain registration and marketing authorization of Chinese patent medicines in Brazil. The press delegation learned about the acceptance and application scope of Chinese medicine in Portuguese-speaking countries here. In addition, the reporters also visited the Advanced Materials Research and Development Center of the Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute. They exchanged views with some post-doctoral fellows regarding industrialization costs and market applications.

It is worth mentioning that the press delegation also visited a law firm jointly operated by Zhongyin Law Firm, Rato, Ling, Lei & Cortés Lawyers, andFongs Lawyers.. The main business of the law firm is cross-border investment, cross-border finance, cross-border litigation, etc. There are currently 11 lawyers from Macao. "We are very optimistic about the development prospects of this law firm. Macao residents who invest in the cooperation zone need more diversified legal services, and joint law firms are a good choice." A reporter from the media group said.

More than half of the reporters in this press delegation came to Hengqin for the first time. After two days of visits and inspections, they expressed their confidence and expectation for the construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-deep Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R. and the Information Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province. This event also was supported by the Ministry of Public Diplomacy and Information from the office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao Special Administrative Region and the Government Information Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. The Administrative Affairs Bureau and the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin also participated in this event.
