How Nansha furthers connections with Hong Kong, Macao

At present, nearly 3,000 Hong Kong and Macao enterprises have settled in Nansha, covering industries such as finance, leasing and business services, scientific research and technical services.

Nansha highlighted 10 major cases of furthering connections with Hong Kong, Macao at a press conference on the development of a demonstration zone for cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao on February 21 held in Nansha.

1.Nansha introduced Hong Kong’s planning standards and invited Hong Kong design institution to participate in the construction of Qingsheng Hub Block. The block is expected to become a new gear for Guangdong-Hong Kong cooperation.

2.Nansha has set up the first non-profit school for the children of Hong Kong residents on the Chinese mainland.

3.Nansha initiated professional evaluation standards for Hong Kong and Macao engineering professionals, which is expected to help Hong Kong and Macao engineers pursue their careers on the Chinese mainland.

4.Nansha pioneered a cooperation mechanism of "Four Sharings" by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Arbitration Alliance, namely the sharing of service windows, roster of arbitrators, courtrooms, and arbitration standards.

5.Enterprises and professionals engaged in engineering and related consulting services with professional qualifications in Hong Kong and Macao, can directly provide services in Nansha Free Trade Zone after having filed with the Nansha construction administrative department.

6.Nansha took the lead in establishing a mutual recognition mechanism for enterprise registration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). It further simplifies the procedures and material for commercial registration for Hong Kong and Macao investors.

7.Nansha built the first service platform to involve Hong Kong and Macao practitioners in the formulation of standard for the scientific innovation sector. Since it was launched in December 2020, 9 standards have been released, which are related to the pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, manufacturing, information service.

8.Nansha launched the first pilot project of "Cross-border Financial Link" to meet GBA residents’ needs for individual investment, flexible asset allocation, and deepened financial cooperation.

9.Nansha made the first move to achieve cross-border allocation of municipal scientific research funds in Guangdong. In Nansha, scientific research funds can be allocated for institutes in Hong Kong.

10.Nansha Sub-Center of National Supercomputer Center in Guangzhou provides the Chinese mainland's first supercomputer direct network line linking Hong Kong. It has become the Chinese mainland’s supercomputing center with the largest number of users in Hong Kong and Macao. The center continues to provide support for technological innovation in Hong Kong and Macao.
