Chen Lianxiang Attended the National Day Reception of Ecuador

On the evening of August 8, Vice Governor Chen Liangxian attended upon invitation the Ecuadorian National Day reception held in Guangzhou by the Consulate General of Ecuador in Guangzhou.

Chen Liangxian first extended holiday greetings to all Ecuadorian friends working, studying and living in Guangdong. He said that Guangdong is China's major foreign trade province. In recent years, cooperation between Guangdong and Ecuador in the fields of economy, trade, culture and tourism has become increasingly close. In the first six months of this year, the total import and export volume between Guangdong and Ecuador reached 1.84 billion RMB with a year-on-year increase of 27.6%. Chen Liangxian pointed out that Guangdong, as the vanguard, predecessor and experimental zone of China's reform and opening up, will deepen reform and opening up in a full scale and firmly grasp the historical opportunities brought about by the Belt and Road Initiative, and the constructions of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Dawan District and the Free Trade Zone to work with Ecuador to deepen the friendly cooperation between the two places for a better tomorrow.

Ecuadorian Consul General Alvaro Garcia said that in recent years, China and Ecuador have achieved good cooperation in economy, trade and humanities. Guangdong is the major province in import and export trade in China, and he hopes to further the exchanges and cooperation in the fields of science and technology, agriculture, mining, education, culture and tourism with Guangdong.
