Canton Tower lights up to congratulate Greater-Bay Science Forum 2021

The highly anticipated Greater-Bay Science Forum 2021 will kick off in Guangzhou on December 11. Themed“Exploring the Future, Sharing Scientific Achievement”, it will bring together leading scientists and international scientific organizations to discuss global trends of scientific development and their implications for the future.

Top scientists recently sent their congratulations to the forum via video, such as Jerzy Duszynski, Dean at Polish Academy of Sciences, Miguel Nicolelis, member of French Academy of Sciences, Brazilian Academy of Sciences, and Pontifical Academy of Sciences, as well as Alexander Ping-kong Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of Hong Kong Baptist University.

The forum presents four highlights: First, creating a high-end showcase to fully demonstrate technological achievements in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA); second, pooling international wisdom to develop the GBA into a global innovation engine; third, building consensus on international scientific cooperation and new approaches to tackling global challenges; fourth, promoting the spirit of science and advocating science.

Nobel Prize laureates, academicians, young scientists, and experts from business communities worldwide are invited to the forum, sharing their insights on the topics of prediction and early warning system for public health emergencies, healthy development of global network and communication technologies and industries, the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, and so on.

Following the requirements of pandemic control and prevention, the forum will be held both online and offline. Its permanent site is located in Nansha district, Guangzhou, which is part of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong / Guangzhou-Zhuhai-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. One plenary meeting, six parallel sessions, and one GBA science and innovation summit will be held during the forum.
