June 28: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new cases of confirmed infections (15 imported cases, 6 in Fujian province, 4 in Guangdong province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Zhejiang province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Fujian province; 1 indigenous case in Guangdong province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections. 

On June 27, 77 patients were released from hospital after being cured (31 imported cases; 46 indigenous cases, 20 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 19 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Shanghai municipality and 3 in Liaoning province). 9,499 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on June 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,320 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 19,016 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 304 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 27, the National Health Commission had received reports of 225,581 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 219,868 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 487 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,255,938 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 93,190 were still under medical observation.

On June 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 84 new asymptomatic cases (63 imported cases; 21 indigenous cases, 6 in Anhui province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Guangdong province and 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region). 

On June 27, 126 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (62 imported cases; 64 indigenous cases, 30 in Shanghai municipality, 14 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 8 in Liaoning province, 6 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Jilin province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Chongqing municipality). 2 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (both were imported cases). As of 24:00 on June 27, 875 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 480 imported cases). 

As of 24:00 on June 27, 3,979,035 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 336,942 in Hong Kong (9,398 had died and 63,734 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 172 in Macao (83 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,641,921 in Taiwan (6,345 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
