Meeting between Deputy Director General of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office Qian Hongjie and Gambian Ambassador to China Masanneh Kintech

On January 13^th 2023, Ms. Qian Hongjie, Deputy Director General of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office met with Mr. Masanneh Kintech, Gambian Ambassador to China in Guangzhou. They exchanged views on promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between Guangdong and Gambia.

Ambassador Kintech extended congratulations on the successful convening of the 20th CPC National Congress, noting that China has achieved tremendous economic and social development over past decades. He said that each year Chinese foreign ministers started their new year overseas tours by visiting Africa, which testifies to the long-lasting friendship between China and Africa. China and Gambia have seen sustained and healthy development on all fronts in bilateral relations since the resumption of diplomatic ties in 2016. Guangdong is well recognized in Gambia for the essential role it has played in bilateral trade. He expressed strong will to advance cooperation in trade and investment between Gambia and Guangdong.

Deputy Director General Qian expressed her welcome to Ambassador Kintech. She said that Guangdong is ready to forge closer economic ties with African countries including Gambia and will encourage enterprises to seek opportunities for pragmatic collaboration.
