Gu Xingwei Attends National Day Reception of Chile

On September 13, 2018, Deputy Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province Gu Xingwei attended upon invitation the National Day reception of Chile held by the Consulate General of Chile in Guangzhou.

Gu Xingwei extended sincere festival regards and best wishes to the Chile friends working, studying and living in Guangzhou. He expressed that China and Chile, though far apart, have long enjoyed a time-honored friendship. As a big agricultural country, Chile produces fruits, timber and red wine that are very popular in Guangdong market; while Guangdong, as a leading Chinese province in foreign exchanges, hoped to consolidate the cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, agriculture, education and culture. Guangdong will grasp firmly the historic opportunity brought by the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as well as FTA, working with Chilean friends to expand cooperation fields for a better future of mutual benefits, common prosperity and development.

Carlos Marin San Martin, the Acting Consul General of the Consulate General of Chile in Guangzhou, expressed that under the substantial support from the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, Chile and Guangdong have close tie in cooperation and this tie is still expanding to more fields. Chile hopes to strengthen cooperation with Guangdong in the fields of economy, trade and agriculture, push the exchanges between two sides to a new height.
