Feb 14: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 84 new cases of confirmed infections (58 imported cases, 27 in Guangdong province, 14 in Shandong province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Fujian province, 2 in Liaoning province, 1 in Henan province and 1  in Sichuan province, including 9 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 5 in Guangdong, 1 in Liaoning, 1 in Fujian, 1 in Henan and 1 in Sichuan; 26 indigenous cases, 18 in Huludao, Liaoning, 6 in Baise, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Shenzhen, Guangdong and 1 in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 83 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,739 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases remained the same.

As of 24:00 on Feb 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 13,048 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 12,357 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 691 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Feb 13, the National Health Commission had received reports of 107,014 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 100,980 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,398 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,559,239 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 33,653 were still under medical observation.

On Feb 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 39 new asymptomatic cases (31 imported cases; 8 indigenous cases, 6 in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture, Yunnan, 1 in Heihe, Heilongjiang province and 1 in Dongguan, Guangdong). 33 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 28 imported cases) and 9 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were imported cases). As of 24:00 on Feb 13, 801 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 727 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Feb 13, 36,692 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 17,046 in Hong Kong (219 had died and 14,183 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 79 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 19,567 in Taiwan (851 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
