The Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) launched 11 key cooperation projects at the 16th Meeting of the Guangdong-Singapore Collaboration Council held in Singapore on Aug 25, making up half of the 22 projects unveiled at the event and boosting bilateral economic and people-to-people exchanges.

Spanning biomedicine, international healthcare, financial services, intellectual property and talent cultivation, the projects were launched in partnership with leading Singaporean entities including United Overseas Bank (UOB), the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and the National University of Singapore.

Highlights include a cross-border tumor diagnosis and treatment center, joint research on cutting-edge cell immunotherapy technologies, one-stop cross-border financial services for enterprises eyeing Southeast Asian markets, and international talent training programs in intellectual property and nursing.

As the sole national-level bilateral cooperation project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, CSGKC has signed 99 cooperation memorandums under the Sino-Singapore bilateral mechanism to date. It currently hosts 165 Singapore-invested enterprises with a total investment of nearly 20 billion yuan ($2.98 billion), serving as a pivotal gateway for Singaporean businesses to access the Greater Bay Area market. Its well-developed biomedicine industry, with a bulk drug capacity of 136,000 liters, provides a solid industrial foundation for deepening medical cooperation.

Drawing on Singapore's garden city development experience, CSGKC has fostered an eco-friendly, livable urban landscape with upgraded international education, healthcare and public amenities.

Moving forward, it will continue to expand cooperation with Singapore, pool global innovation resources, and build itself into a core demonstration zone for high-quality Sino-Singaporean partnership.
