A delegation led by Meng Fanli, deputy secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and governor of South China's Guangdong province, visited Indonesia from Aug 26 to 28. During the visit, Meng held talks with Airlangga Hartarto, minister of the Ministry of Economic Coordination, in Jakarta, where the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on further deepening bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

Speaking at the China (Guangdong)-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference, Wang Lutong, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, said that China-Indonesia relations have maintained strong development momentum. He expressed hope that the forum would further advance practical economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Meng said that this year marks the start of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30). Guangdong is accelerating the development of a modern industrial system based on advanced manufacturing while promoting high-quality economic and social development, which will create new cooperation opportunities for both sides. The province will continue to foster a first-class business environment and protect the legitimate rights and interests of all enterprises and business operators, including foreign-funded enterprises, in accordance with the law.

Representatives from Indonesian business associations, including the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Indonesia-China Chamber of Commerce, briefed the forum on current bilateral business cooperation and future work plans. A signing ceremony for trade and investment projects between Guangdong and Indonesian enterprises was also held on-site.
