Yuan Baocheng, vice-chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, delivered a speech on Sept 15 at Mexico's National Day reception, which was hosted by the Consulate General of the United Mexican StatesMexico in Guangzhou.

Yuan extended warm greetings to all theMexicans living, working and studying in Guangdong. He noted thatsound China-Mexico ties have galvanized practical provincial-level cooperation.

As this year marks APEC's "China Year" and Mexico is set to host APEC in 2028, fresh strategic opportunities are emerging for both sides under the Asia-Pacific framework.

Home to the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, Guangdong is building a market‑oriented, law-based and world-class business environment.

"We welcome global partners to share the development dividends of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area," Yuan said.

Guangdong seeks deeper collaboration with Mexico in digital economy, green energy and new-energy vehicles for win-win outcomes for people on both sides, he added.
