Li Xin, vice-chairperson of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended and addressed a reception in Guangzhou on Oct 29, marking the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye.

Hosted by the Consulate-General of Türkiye in Guangzhou, the event drew a  number of Turkish nationals who are working, studying and living in Guangdong, to whom Li extended her sincere greetings and warm wishes.

In her address, Li said practical cooperation between Guangdong and Türkiye has been deepening since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1971, evidenced by steady growth in trade and investment, encouraging progress in connectivity, and increasingly frequent people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

Noting that this year marks both the opening of China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) and the widely anticipated APEC China Year 2026, Li said Guangdong is pressing ahead with building out the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and striving to write its own chapter of Chinese modernization.

Looking ahead, she said Guangdong stands ready to work with its Türkiye counterparts to strengthen friendly exchanges at the local level, unlock the potential of economic and trade cooperation, and sustain people-to-people bonds. This will further contribute provincial strength to the deepening of China-Türkiye strategic cooperation.
