The average daily cross-border passenger count was 12,000, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 3.9 percent, the group said. Significant increases in passenger traffic were seen in western Guangdong and the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan area in Hunan.
The railway operator has collaborated with local cultural and tourism departments to operate customized train services. For instance, during a soccer tournament in Hunan, select trains were arranged for soccer fans traveling from Loudi to Huaihua.
During the fishing season in western Guangdong, the group increased the frequency of high-speed train services on popular coastal routes in the region.
