Zhang Shuofu, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, made a personal address at the Brazil National Day reception hosted by the Consulate General of Brazil in Guangzhou on Sept 4.

Zhang drew attention to how Guangdong and Brazil have achieved fruitful results in trade, people-to-people exchanges and cultural fields.

This year marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) and the APEC China Year. Moving forward, Guangdong will remain firmly committed to advancing high-quality development, expanding high-level opening-up, and fostering a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment.

Guangdong will also support more local enterprises in investing and growing their presence in Brazil. It will also welcome friends from all sectors of Brazilian society to actively expand their practical cooperation with Guangdong, so as to jointly share the development opportunities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and achieve higher-level mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
