To celebrate the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival, cities across Guangdong are launching a series of exciting activities. Combining time-honored folk customs with creative new forms, the events showcase unique Lingnan charm across different venues.

In Shenzhen's Futian district, dragon boat racing meets cutting-edge technology. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Invitational welcomes teams from Malaysia, Singapore, and other APEC economies for the first time, while AI carnivals, VR experiences, and folk fairs create a lively fusion of tradition and innovation.

Guangzhou Tianhe features time-honored dragon boat events. The famous "dragon boat drifting" on narrow waterways becomes a highlight, alongside robot dance shows and trendy markets that refresh old customs.

Zhongshan hosts grand dragon boat races involving 74 teams from 13 cities. It also features the time-honored 13-oar dragon boat race, a local intangible cultural heritage, alongside folk performances and themed galas throughout the city.

Jiangmen Jianghai inherits 400 years of profound dragon boat customs. The celebrations feature provincial intangible cultural heritage, such as spectacular races, characteristic dragon boat feasts, and lively cultural markets for tourists and locals alike.

Xiangqiao in Chaozhou features distinctive dragon boat races that emphasize excellent boating skills, along with a special intangible heritage market atop Guangji Bridge. Diverse folk craft exhibitions bring tourists close to the authentic essence of local Lingnan culture.
