Zhang Hu, executive vice governor of Guangdong province and member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, attended and addressed the Saudi National Day reception hosted by the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Guangzhou on Sept 23.

Saudi Arabia has a rich history of positive interactions with Guangdong, stemming from its role as a key hub along the land and maritime Silk Roads. In recent years, the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative with Saudi Vision 2030 has significantly enhanced bilateral cooperation. This collaboration has gained strong momentum in areas such as industrial connections, technological innovation, and green energy.

Guangdong stands ready to work with the Saudi consulate general to advance high-quality BRI cooperation, strengthen synergies between the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Saudi Arabia's development strategies, and take bilateral friendship and practical cooperation to new heights for the benefit of both countries and their peoples.
