China's Diplomacy in the New Era
Guangdong emerges as dynamic hub for intl students in China

Guangdong province is strengthening its position as a leading destination for global learners, with about 20,000 international students from over 180 countries and regions currently studying at 105 qualified universities across the province.

The province's achievements were highlighted during the 2025 "Study in China, Study in Guangdong" event recently held at the Guangzhou International Campus of South China University of Technology.

The event featured artistic performances, photo exhibitions, and stories by students, drawing over 600 representatives from universities and student communities. Through disciplines ranging from engineering to humanities, Guangdong's universities have developed specialized programs and innovation-driven curricula to enhance career readiness among international students. Lingnan-style cross-cultural activities are aimed at further promoting mutual understanding between locals and international students.

During an art-focused segment titled "Guangdong Meets the World", students from 14 universities in Guangdong gave performances as part of a cultural exchange program. Many expressed a deep affection for Chinese culture and a commitment to fostering global friendship.

In recent years, Guangdong has advanced educational openness through initiatives such as the Guangdong Government Scholarship for International Students and programs like "Perception of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area". These efforts not only provide international students with high-quality education but also encourage them to share their stories in China and Guangdong with the world.
