Ye Zhenqin, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, attended and addressed the Kuwait National Day reception held by the Consulate General of the State of Kuwait in Guangzhou on Feb 10.

Ye extended festive greetings and best wishes to Kuwaiti friends in Guangdong. He noted that China and Kuwait share a deep traditional friendship and sound momentum in bilateral relations. In recent years, practical cooperation between Guangdong and Kuwait in various fields has been deepening steadily.

He said Guangdong is committed to pursuing high-quality development, advancing the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and striving for a promising start to the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30).

Guangdong sincerely welcomes Kuwait and global partners to share its development opportunities, he added. He called for closer alignment between Kuwait Vision 2035 and the Belt and Road Initiative to achieve win-win cooperation and promote a prosperous future for both sides.
