China's Diplomacy in the New Era
Guangdong, BASF vow to deepen cooperation for shared future

Ma Wenfeng, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, met with Haryono Lim, senior vice president of Mega Projects Asian at BASF, and his delegation at the Guangdong Guest House on Feb 28.

Ma extended a warm welcome and recalled his three visits to the BASF (Guangdong) Verbund Site. He spoke highly of the project's full completion and operation on schedule, calling it a fine example of "Guangdong Speed" and "BASF Efficiency".

Ma briefed the guest on Guangdong's economic and social progress in 2025. He encouraged BASF to further deepen its presence in Guangdong, seize opportunities brought by the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the sound momentum of China-Germany economic cooperation, and the 2026 APEC Year in China. He called for deeper local engagement, joint research, shared platforms and win-win results.

Ma said the office would continue to support BASF's development and assist in the upcoming launch ceremony in late March.

Lam thanked the office for its long-term support and updated officials on project progress and ceremony preparations. He said BASF remains fully confident in the Guangdong market and will promote the province to its global partners during the launch event.

Chen Guangjun and Qiu Huilin attended the meeting.
