Guangdong province welcomed a delegation from the Brazil-China Friendship Association in late April, hosting a series of cultural exchange events that underscored the deepening ties between the two sides as they mark the 52nd anniversary of diplomatic relations and the "China-Brazil Year of Culture" in 2026.

Huang Min, a second-level inspector at the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Province, met with Su Ziliang, secretary-general of the Brazil-China Friendship Association, and Márcia Melchior, president of the Brazil Shān Hé Cultural Promotion Center, on April 21.

Huang described the visit as an important people-to-people exchange featuring a performance by the Rio de Janeiro Forte de Copacabana Orchestra, a Brazilian intangible cultural heritage ensemble.

She expressed hope the association would continue to facilitate friendly exchanges and practical cooperation in sister-city relationships and trade.

During the visit, the Brazil Shān Hé Cultural Promotion Center signed a cooperation memorandum with the Xinghai Conservatory of Music to jointly develop platforms and programs for young artistic talents from both countries.

The evening culminated in a joint concert titled "One Melody Across Miles: Brazilian Charm and Cantonese Grace" at the Lang Lang Concert Hall.
