South China's Guangdong province has surpassed national desertification control targets during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021–2025), bringing 187,000 mu of sandy land and 133,600 mu of rocky desertification land under effective managemen.
Guangdong province has stepped up implementation of six initiatives under its Green and Beautiful Guangdong ecological development program, with the goal of promoting harmonious coexistence between people and nature.
At a press conference in Guangzhou on Wednesday, a senior Guangdong official laid out the province's plans to build a diversified and green power supply security system in line with its intention to develop its clean energy industry during the 15th five-year-plan period (2026-30).
