Ye Zhenqin meets with speaker of Nauru's parliament

Ye Zhenqin, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, met with Marcus Stephen, speaker of the Parliament of Nauru, in Guangzhou on December 4.

Ye highlighted the close ties that have been developed between Guangdong and Nauru since the resumption of diplomatic relations between China and Nauru, marked by frequent high-level exchanges and progress in various areas of cooperation. Ye expressed a willingness to work with Nauru to implement the key consensus reached by the two countries' leaders, promote greater people-to-people exchanges, enhance legislative cooperation, and deepen engagement in marine fisheries, healthcare, and cultural fields. He also extended an invitation to people from Nauru to visit Guangdong and witness China's economic and social development firsthand.

Stephen expressed admiration for China's remarkable achievements during his visit and gratitude for the support provided by Guangdong. He voiced a desire to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation across various fields and deepen mutual understanding and friendship.
