Xu Ruisheng, vice-chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the King's Day reception hosted by the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Guangzhou on April 24.
Xu delivered a speech, emphasizing how China-Netherlands relations have strengthened over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties.
He said that pragmatic cooperation between the two countries has been a driving force in China-Europe relations.
Xu highlighted Guangdong's role at the forefront of China's reform and opening up efforts as well as its robust cooperation with the Netherlands. The two regions have achieved fruitful results in creative design, green development, and scientific and technological innovation, exemplifying open cooperation and mutual benefit.
Looking ahead, Xu expressed confidence that Guangdong will continue on the path toward high-level opening up. He emphasized the vast prospects for future cooperation with the Netherlands in trade logistics, smart agriculture, digital economy, green energy, and life sciences.
