Zhang Shaokang, deputy governor of Guangdong province, met with Athsaphangthong Siphandone, governor of Vientiane, Laos, and his delegation in Guangzhou on May 26.

Zhang mentioned that this year is the 10th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Guangdong and Vientiane, with increasing cooperation in trade, investment, culture, and tourism.

He expressed a desire to deepen practical cooperation in high-level exchanges, trade, investment, and cultural fields with Vientiane, as well as enhance overall connectivity.

Zhang also welcomed global partners such as Laos to share new opportunities for high-quality development in order to achieve more mutually beneficial results.

Siphandone thanked Guangdong for its assistance to Vientiane and hoped that the visit would further strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism, fostering friendship and mutual understanding between the two regions.
