Deputy governor attends Italian Consulate's National Day Reception in Guangzhou

Li Yun, deputy governor of Guangdong province, attended a reception for Italy's National Day, known as the Festa della Repubblica, on June 5, hosted by the Italian Consulate General in Guangzhou.

At the reception, Li said that Guangdong, as a birthplace of the Maritime Silk Road and pioneer in China's reform and opening-up efforts, has seen fruitful cooperation and exchanges with Italy.

Currently, Guangdong is focusing on high-quality development and building a new development paradigm. It is committed to promoting the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by harnessing the strength of the entire province.

Guangdong hopes to take the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy as an opportunity to continue working hand in hand with partners from all walks of life in Italy.

It aims to further step up exchanges at all levels and deepen pragmatic cooperation in trade, investment, manufacturing, science and technology, education, culture, and the arts.
