On Feb 2, Ma Wenfeng, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, met with Harris Alwi, the new Consul General of Malaysia in Guangzhou.

Ma highlighted the strong partnership between China and Malaysia and proposed strengthening coordination to align China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) with the 13th Malaysia Plan (2026–30).

Alwi thanked the office for its warm reception and congratulated Ma on his new role. He said he looked forward to jointly exploring more cooperation opportunities and fostering new growth drivers.

Deputy Director Qian Hongjie attended the meeting.
