On Feb 2, Ma Wenfeng, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, met with Sarsenbekov Valikhan, the first Consul General of Kazakhstan in Guangzhou.

Ma extended offered his congratulations on the opening of the consulate general and Sarsenbekov's assumption of office. He highlighted the robust development of China-Kazakhstan relations and the strong momentum in economic and trade cooperation between Guangdong and Kazakhstan. He expressed Guangdong's willingness to work with Kazakhstan to achieve more fruitful results in practical cooperation across trade, investment, energy, manufacturing, culture, and tourism.

Sarsenbekov thanked the Guangdong foreign affairs office for its support. He said that Kazakhstan highly values its cooperation with China and expressed hopes of further deepening economic and trade ties with Guangdong during his tenure. He also aims to promote more practical exchanges in science, education, innovation, and personnel mobility.

Deputy Director Qian Hongjie attended the meeting.
