Ma Wenfeng, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, met with Gince Kuruvilla Mattam, the newly appointed consul general of India in Guangzhou, on March 2.
Ma extended warm congratulations to Manjunath on his assumption of office. He said that as China-India relations restart and move forward, both sides should continue to expand win-win cooperation. He pointed out similarities in economic structure and development strengths between Guangdong and India, expressing hope to work with the consulate as a bridge to deepen economic and trade ties and facilitate personnel exchanges.
For his part, Mattam thanked the office for its long-term support to the consulate. India places a strong emphasis on fostering exchanges and cooperation with Guangdong. During his tenure, he committed to enhancing bilateral relations through delegation visits, government-to-government exchanges and an expansion of student exchanges.
Qian Hongjie, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Province, also attended the meeting.
