Guangdong, Vietnam strengthen ties at 76th anniversary of diplomatic relations

Guangdong province has reaffirmed its commitment to deepen bilateral cooperation with Vietnam as the two sides marked the 76th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.

Speaking at a reception in the province on Feb 3, Qian Hongjie, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, highlighted the province's strategic role as a key frontier in China's cooperative efforts with Vietnam.

Qian said that Guangdong and Vietnam have achieved fruitful results in high-level political exchanges, institutional mechanisms, trade and investment, key infrastructural projects, and sister-city relations.

Standing at a new historical starting point as Guangdong advances its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30), the province expressed readiness to work with Vietnam to deepen the China-Vietnam community with a shared future, building on their long-standing traditional friendship.
