Guangdong joins China-Vietnam cooperation meeting as ties deepen across sectors

The 17th meeting of the China-Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation was held in Hanoi on March 17, which was co-chaired by Foreign Minister Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and Bui Thanh Son, deputy prime minister of Vietnam.

Zhang Guozhi, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and deputy governor of Guangdong province, attended the meeting online.

Wang said that ministries and local governments on both sides have maintained efficient coordination, driving cooperation to a higher quality and broader scope. He called for further efforts to enhance strategic mutual trust, expand security cooperation, deepen practical collaboration, sustain people-to-people exchanges, and strengthen multilateral coordination.

The meeting underscored a shared commitment to building a China–Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.
