Guangzhou is rolling out a package of entry, transport and payment services for overseas visitors ahead of the 139th Canton Fair, which opens on April 15.
The new measures are aimed at making the fair easier to attend and more efficient for global buyers and exhibitors, as the city steps up support from arrival to business matching.
According to the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the number of pre-registered buyers has exceeded 210,000, up 20 percent year-on-year. More than 70 percent are professional buyers, the highest proportion so far, while 290 leading purchasing enterprises have confirmed their attendance, up 30 percent.
To improve access, multilingual channels will be available at airports and passenger ports, alongside visa-free transit and port visa services. During the fair, metro services will be increased, with at least 2,000 taxis and ride-hailing vehicles deployed daily around the venue.
The city has also enhanced payment convenience. More than 15,000 merchants now accept international bank cards, while nearly 400 metro stations support contactless entry with overseas cards.

Beyond logistics, Guangzhou will connect the fair with wholesale markets, shopping districts and cultural events, seeking to turn trade visits into broader business and city experiences.
