Guangdong, Burkina Faso discuss consulate establishment in Guangzhou

Qian Hongjie, deputy director general of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong province, met with Herman TOE, secretary general of Burkina Faso's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Guangzhou on May 11 to discuss the establishment of a Burkinabe consulate general in the city.

Qian said Guangdong province, as a leading province in China-Africa cooperation, has been actively advancing friendly relations and practical collaboration with Burkina Faso. She expressed her hope that the consulate would complete its preparations and open soon, assuring that the provincial foreign affairs office would provide the necessary facilitation and assistance.

TOE acknowledged that exchanges between the two countries have grown increasingly close in recent years, with both bilateral trade and economic cooperation expanding steadily. He said Burkina Faso will accelerate preparations for the opening of the consulate to elevate sub-national exchanges and cooperation to a new level.
