Liu Yahong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, attended and delivered a speech at the National Day Reception hosted by the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou on June 4.

Liu extended festive greetings and sincere wishes to Italian friends working, studying and living in Guangdong. She said that as a key starting point of the Maritime Silk Road, Guangdong and Italy enjoy time-honored friendly exchanges and maintain close cooperation in economy, trade, culture, art and education.

This year marks the launch of China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) and the much-anticipated China Year of APEC. Embracing the world with a new look, Guangdong looks forward to working hand in hand with friends from all sectors in Italy to deepen exchanges and cooperation in economy, trade, investment, sci-tech innovation, green energy, intelligent manufacturing and people-to-people ties.

The two sides will share development opportunities and jointly draw a bright blueprint for the future.
