Li Hongzhi, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, held a meeting with Warren Kaeding, minister of Trade and Export Development of Saskatchewan, Canada, on his maiden visit to Guangdong on June 4.
Li briefed Kaeding on Guangdong province's economic and social development and the significant opportunities presented by the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He said that Guangdong is currently planning and advancing its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) with a sense of responsibility to lead the way, set an example, and shoulder major responsibilities, striving to create new advantages and achieve fresh breakthroughs from this new starting point. Saskatchewan is a key province in Canada, rich in natural resources and boasting highly developed industries such as agriculture, livestock, and clean energy, offering vast potential for cooperation with Guangdong province.
Kaeding said that he looks forward to strengthening people-to-people exchanges and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Canada.
