Deng Haiguang, vice chairperson of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended and delivered a speech at the King's Birthday Reception of the United Kingdom hosted by the nation's consulate general in Guangzhou on June 10.

Deng extended sincere greetings and best wishes to British friends working, studying and living in Guangdong. He said that Guangdong, a key pillar of practical cooperation between China and the UK is now expanding high-level opening-up and fostering a world-class, market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment.

The province will look forward to working with all sectors in the UK to deepen practical cooperation in economic and trade investment, sci-tech innovation, clean energy, life sciences, and cultural and educational exchanges.
