Angola Airlines launched its direct service between Guangzhou and Luanda, Angola, on June 25. He Rusheng, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong People's Government, attended the launch ceremony.
As the only direct flight connecting Guangzhou and southwestern Africa, the route will greatly facilitate travel for business professionals, investors and students, injecting strong impetus into bilateral cooperation in the economy, trade, culture, tourism and education.
He said that Guangzhou is a key gateway of China to the African continent, while Luanda serves as a transport hub in southwestern Africa. The route launch reflects recognition of Guangdong's market vitality and open business environment.
Within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and building on the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, Guangdong will deepen practical cooperation with African countries across multiple sectors by leveraging the convenience of direct flights. Angolan Ambassador to China Dalva Ringote Allen, Consul General of Angola in Guangzhou Judite Costa and other guests attended the event.
