An event themed "African Consuls Corps in Guangzhou: Insight into Guangdong" was held on July 2 to help foster close ties between the city and the continent.
It was co-hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Provincial Government and the provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and was organized by Guangdong Technician College of Light Industry.
Focusing on vocational skills education cooperation, the event featured thematic salons, on-site inspections and cultural exchanges to discuss issues including industrial collaboration between Guangdong and Africa, cross-border skilled personnel training, and the zero-tariff policy for African countries.
He Rusheng, deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, pointed out that this year marks the 70th anniversary of China-Africa diplomatic ties.
Guangdong pledged to pursue deeper practical cooperation with African consulates in Guangzhou, delivering more cooperation benefits to people on both sides.
