Ma noted that Kuwait is the first Gulf Arab country to establish diplomatic ties with China, the first Middle Eastern country to sign up to China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and the first Arab country to set up a consulate general in Guangzhou.

Guangdong is eager to work with the Kuwaiti Consulate General to strengthen cooperation across multiple fields and inject new momentum into bilateral relations.

Salem stated that Kuwait attaches great importance to cooperation with Guangdong and expects to further deepen collaboration in the economy, trade, energy, science, education and cultural exchanges.
