South China's Guangdong province has rolled out 239 volunteer tree-planting activities via the official online platform so far this year. It also plans to mobilize year-round public participation in such activities in 2026 as part of the "Green and Beautiful Guangdong" campaign.
From 2023 to 2025, the province held over 74,000 tree-planting activities, including various themed programs and forest projects, creating an ecological development model centered on public participation and shared benefits.

Online participation channels such as dedicated mini-programs have gained widespread popularity, with volunteer reception sites covering all 21 prefecture-level cities.
A special ecological investment fund has been set up as well, and more than 42,000 private enterprises have joined the initiative, diversifying funding sources and turning "cloud tree-planting" into a new local trend.
In the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), Guangdong will further innovate volunteer tree-planting practices, improve the "duty-incentive" closed-loop mechanism, integrate tree-planting with Lingnan culture and rural revitalization, and expand both online and offline platforms to bring more ecological benefits to residents.
