Guangzhou, Kingston become Friendly Cities

Guangzhou and Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, signed a memorandum of understanding regarding strengthening exchanges and cooperation on Feb 9.

The two cities will carry out exchange activities and strengthen their cooperation in multiple sectors, including economy, trade, port processing, and culture.

Both Guangzhou Mayor, Guo Yonghang, and Delroy Williams, mayor of Kingston, attended the signing ceremony.

Guo said that Guangzhou and Kingston are important central cities with strong economic complementarity and great potential for cooperation. They are both economic and trade centers and transportation hubs within their respective countries. 

Guangzhou hopes to promote friendly relations between the two cities and contribute to the cooperation between the two sides in urban governance, port processing, cultural exchanges, and other fields.

Delroy Williams expressed that Kingston, as a political, economic, and cultural center in Jamaica, is full of vitality and development opportunities.

Williams also stated that he looked forward to expanding cooperation with Guangzhou so as to promote the establishment of long-term and stable friendly relations between the two cities.
