China's Diplomacy in the New Era
Guangzhou hosts Pakistan business exchange, boosting investment ties

Guangdong recently strengthened its economic partnership with Pakistan through a high-level investment promotion event held in Guangzhou, underscoring the province's active role in deepening Belt and Road cooperation.

On Sept 12, the "2025 Pakistan Business and Investment Exchange" took place in Guangzhou, drawing over 100 representatives from Chinese and Pakistani business associations and enterprises.

Sardar Muhammad, consul general of Pakistan in Guangzhou, emphasized the strong bilateral ties, describing China and Pakistan as ''iron-clad brothers''. He highlighted Pakistan's ongoing efforts to improve its business climate, with special incentives offered in manufacturing, energy, e-commerce, and other promising fields. He also noted the growing presence of Pakistani entrepreneurs in Guangzhou, attracted by the city's diverse industrial base and cultural inclusivity.

Adeel Hassan, director of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor at the Board of Investment Pakistan, delivered a detailed presentation on investment policies and key industries. Pakistani companies JW Group and AL-Feroz Group also shared project opportunities via online roadshows.

The event featured practical experience-sharing sessions from Chinese companies already operating in Pakistan, covering legal, financial, and market entry strategies. Business-to-business matchmaking sessions faciliated discussions in sectors such as cross-border e-commerce, automotive, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, with several intent agreements reached.

As China and Pakistan approach the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year, this exchange served as both a practical guide for Guangzhou enterprises entering the Pakistani market and a platform for fostering deeper business collaboration.
