Cang Feng, deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, met with a delegation of Latin American journalists in Guangzhou on December 4.
Cang provided an overview of Guangdong’s achievements in deepening reforms, expanding high-level opening-up and pushing forward high-quality development to advance Chinese modernization, highlighting the province's role in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He also elaborated on Guangdong's exchanges and cooperation with Latin American countries and addressed questions from journalists on topics such as connectivity, new energy vehicles and overseas Chinese communities.
Emphasizing the deep historical ties and robust exchanges in economic and cultural sectors, Cang expressed hope that the delegation's visit would offer a deeper understanding of the real Guangdong and China.
A total of 21 journalists from 18 Latin American countries visited Guangdong from December 1 to 4. They said they gained a better understanding of the province and expressed their commitment to using their reporting to foster mutual understanding between Guangdong and Latin American countries, thereby contributing to enhanced relations and cooperation.
During their stay, the delegation attended the opening ceremony of the 2024 Understanding China Conference and visited Huangmaohai Link and Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link to witness China's infrastructural achievements.
